This intensive book describes how WRAP® can be adapted for all kinds of circumstances like dealing with a major illness or disability, stopping smoking, losing or gaining weight, and working through job stressors and family conflict. It is designed for personal use, for use by people who are leading WRAP® groups and for people who are integrating WRAP® into their health care system. It provides guidance for working with people with special needs such as learning and physical disabilities. It contains long lists of possible Wellness Tools, the cornerstone of any successful Wellness Recovery Action Plan®. Winning Against Relapse also provides in-depth instructions on how to develop a WRAP® that anyone can use to monitor feelings and behaviors and respond to them in a way that reduces the possibility of relapse and increases the likelihood of feeling well most of the time.

It can also be used as a guide for groups and should be available on loan by health care providers and libraries. It is an in-depth description of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan process and is highly recommended as a supplement to the other WRAP resources. It contains specific instructions for working with others who have special needs.

This workbook provides a carefully structured system that anyone can use to monitor feelings and behaviors and respond to them in a way that reduces or eliminates the possibility of relapse and increases the likelihood that you will feel well most of the time. You will identify those things you need to do every day to maintain an optimum level of wellness, how to recognize the daily events that can cause you to feel badly, the early warning signs that you need to take action, the signs that the situation is worsening, and how to make personal action plans that can reverse the situation. It will also guide you through the process of developing a personal crisis plan for others to use if they need to take responsibility for your care.
